Introduction |
|
Department of History at UOS aims
at giving you an understanding of the Historical events, processes and issues central
to the formation of the modern world. It will help you to appreciate the dynamics
of change & stability within the spheres of politics, culture, economics, society,
science and ideology, and give you the chance to apply this understanding to the
histories of Subcontinent, Turkey, Arab World, Europe & USA. The department
of History located in Al-Beruni Block was established in 1963 but extensively remodelled
in 1984 in a well equipped learning environment; facilities included a large teaching
area equipped with instrumentation for visual presentations and teaching excellence,
student common rooms and huge library.After the inauguration of the university,
plans were being chalked out for
Subcontinent Colonial/postcolonial
studies and Pakistan as focal point. For the past 24 years, the Department has been
showing excellent results in university exams. History Department is presently running
the following courses.
